Valeree flips the script on ageist+misogynist clichés with “Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!”

A jubilant, 70's-inspired disco anthem celebrating growing older, wiser, and hotter than ever.

Today, multi-independent award show darling, social media music starlet (150k+ followers), Billboard-performing alumna, and radio charting funk-pop fusion powerhouse Valeree announces lead single “Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!”, releasing July 10th. The symphonic disco earworm kicks off single releases from her upcoming album: a 70's–80's inspired funk/disco/synthpop fusion extravaganza promising her catchiest, most danceable work yet.

The second its larger-than-life orchestral opening hits, “Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!” transports the listener right into a disco-fueled 70's summer. Distinctly ‘Valeree’ through playful, quippy lyricism while also reminiscent of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” ABBA, & Chappell Roan, the infectious groove & soaring vocals will get anyone and everyone dancing. “Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!” celebrates life, self-assurance, and decisively rejects the notion that youth defines women's value.

Written shortly after turning 30 herself, the song was inspired by Valeree’s experience of spending the months surrounding her birthday haunted by an other-shoe-drop feeling: an expectation informed by a lifetime of subliminal messaging that a mental crisis about aging must be coming, only to finally realize a crisis was not in her cards! Instead, all she felt was joy, confidence, and excitement for her next chapter, thus “Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving” was born. This shimmering maximalist feat also marks Valeree’s debut as lead (and sole) producer. As she is the song’s sole composer, “Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!” is entirely written and produced by women.

Emotive, powerhouse vocals deliver razor-tongued wit and exploratory songwriting overflowing with personality ; all packaged within an uber-catchy blend of funk, jazz, disco, & retro pop.

Stevie Wonder meets Chappell Roan.

“Valeree possesses a voice that enthralls within just three seconds… she deftly blends R&B, jazz, and rock influences, crafting lyrics that resonate deeply; showcasing her talent for blending catchy melodies with poignant themes. ”  - Galore Magazine

Press

“[Valeree] spins a series of dynamic and genuine pop songs rich with profound and intricate wordplay... using her brilliant songwriting talent to introspectively explore her past while also passionately advocating for women and mental health.”- Wonderland Magazine

"With influences ranging from Fiona Apple to retro-funk and pop vibes, 'Interrupted' is more than just an album—it’s a testament to resilience and the transformative power of music." - Ladygunn Magazine

“Valeree shines as a vocalist, bringing palpable soul and startlingly sincere emotion to ‘Broke’”- American Songwriter Magazine

“[‘Interrupted’] must be heard to be truly believed. Up to ‘Be Alone,’ the album is already impressive, but it cannot prepare you for the musical ecstasy found in [the latter half]. Not only does Valeree showcase her remarkable emotive power, but she is also accompanied by a delightful jazz fusion flair that leaves listeners in awe…this sets Valeree apart from the cacophony of sameness that many of her contemporaries, unfortunately, fall into… Truly a remarkable and beautiful album”

- Galore Magazine

Bio

Valeree is a bold, witty artist whose music glows with saturated color and the shimmer of 70’s funk and disco. With sharp lyricism, exploratory songwriting, and a humorous, playful edge; the LA-based Pittsburgh native brings levity to the heavy while staying true to her notoriously distinctive point of view. In this upcoming funk-fueled chapter of her career, she thrives in a larger-than-life world of big emotions, bold fashion, and saturated sound; creating music where humor and honesty spark empowerment and women’s experiences take center stage.

Instantly recognizable by her expressive, powerhouse vocals, Valeree’s voice is the throughline in a genre-blurring catalog that fuses funk-infused pop with soul, disco, R&B, and raw, diaristic storytelling. She's been writing and performing for years, steadily building a world that feels as deliberate as it is emotionally unfiltered. Valeree's songwriting often explores subjects you don't hear often in the pop landscape- from her experiences of homelessness to deeply personal accounts of alcoholism to sharp critiques of the beauty industry and its misogyny, and everything in between. Her early work showcased a keen melodic instinct and lyrical honesty, and her debut EP Masochist earned an Independent Music Award nomination for Best Pop EP. With her follow-up project, it’s fine, i’m fine, Valeree began reaching wider audiences, gaining viral traction and critical praise for her unguarded songwriting and evolving sound.

That evolution reached new heights with Interrupted, her debut full-length album: a concept-driven body of work that weaves together themes of PTSD, addiction, vulnerability, healing, and the complicated nuance of experiencing womanhood. Sonically, Interrupted marked the beginnings of a shift towards a funkier, more upbeat sound, while staying true to the retro jazz and R&B influenced roots of her earlier works. Interrupted was nominated for Best Pop Album at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards, and was described by Ladygunn as “a testament to resilience and the transformative power of music.”

Entering 2026, Valeree ramps up to release music of her newest era - one that is funkier, catchier, sharper, and more danceable than ever.

Valeree takes on a beloved Taylor Swift deep cut - “Clean” Out Now

If any artist’s fanbase lauds their deep cuts more than the hits, the reigning queen supreme is Taylor Swift. “Clean” is originally an atmospheric synth-pop track off of Swift’s pop crossover album 1989, and while not a single or immediate hit from the project, it’s gathered a cult following from Swifties who’ve designated it the home of one of Swift’s all-time greatest Pop choruses. Valeree puts her distinct stamp on this cover - her huge, expressive vocals, retro soulful funky undertones, and playful melodic updates all feel familiar to any Valeree fan, yet she takes this opportunity to usher in a new era. Valeree’s “Clean” is an upbeat, unmistakably disco-synthpop fusion track with dance-pop overtones; clearly venturing into new exciting territory. She’s been hinting across social media that this next chapter would be funkier than ever, and this disco dance-floor banger certainly feels like a delicious first taste of what’s to come from Valeree.
